“ska, dub and hip hop treats” TimeOut London

Energetic, dynamic and refreshingly unique, King Porter Stomp showcase a new world sound to maximum effect. With afro funk horn lines, dub reggae rhythms, harmonious hooks and conscious rhymes, King Porter Stomp’s all encompassing live show connects with every audience in mind, body and spirit. Their diverse and infectious music is the combination of 8 very different and talented musical minds, writing collectively with a combined passion and deep respect for one another that unites ideas and crafts music unlike any you will have heard before; “hard to pigeonhole, easy to recommend” (iTunes review).

Their 7 year journey has taken them from their home town of Brighton to perform at many major venues and festivals across Europe. With 2 critically acclaimed albums, a nomination for ‘Best Group’ in the Songlines World Music Awards, a writing and performance commission from Shakespeare’s Globe theatre and a host of collaborative works, King Porter Stomp are at the absolute top of their game as they release their brand new EP.

‘IN THE MEAN TIMES’ EP is recorded and produced by reggae legend Prince Fatty, and features collaborations with DJ Vadim, Nick Manasseh, John Hendicott and Mr Simmonds. The quality of these new recordings shine through with all 4 original tracks from the EP gaining pre release global radio play from stations including BBC6 Music, BBC 1XTRA and Radio Brooklyn in America. The live brass band video for the track ‘pocketfulofrocketfuel’ gained a front page feature in 21st Century Brass Magazine, numerous plays on Sky TV and prompted an invitation to play a live session for the BBC.
